Distribution Night

It was a rainy Saturday night, and we had set that date and time to give out the care packages we created. I was really happy with the interest people had to help with this portion of the project!

We went out in a group of 7 or 8 of us to 42nd street and made our way to Penn Station. In Times Square we were able to hand out quite a few of the packages. We met a woman named Melissa. Her husband was also in the area, a few streets down. She really appreciated the items we packed, especially the feminine products, body soap, and shampoo.

The majority of the care packages were given out at Penn Station. We really wished we had more care packages because we ran out very soon. I think next time, it would be great to just stop and focus our efforts on Penn Station. It was a very successful and humbling night. I couldn’t be happier with how we were able to provide some support and comfort to people in the cold night.
